In the summer of 2019, I rekindled my Wanderlust and FINALLY got back to Europe after many years of not traveling. Italy has always been a love of mine and I can never be too far away from salt water in the summer. So a tour of Rome & the Amalfi Coast was PERFECT! 

Cut to a heat wave where every day was over 90 f. I was thankful my Roman flat had a small aircon unit by the bed. It was a godsend to have planned the majority of the trip on the coast. My flat in Atrani had STEPS right out to the ocean! Grant it - it was 178 steps (yes I counted!), but every trip was worth the climb.   

I fell in love with the culture and country and at the time had grand plans of returning regularly. However, the world had other plans for all of us in the coming months. This time every year, I think longingly back to my time on the Mediterranean and look forward to my return trip - whenever that may be. 

Emotions rolling like rough seas
Crashing before rolling into the shore
A beach filled with too many judgmental seagulls
Power controlled by the moon
Constant even when sun rays twinkle 
An outside force not offering a cure for salt water needs
Seashells crack and tumble under the pressure
People try to leap waves 
Temporarily
Watching the tide come in

The first post in a new space is always intimidating to me. Just staring at blank screens without any content yet to be commented on or discussed. 

My hope for these posts is to share a little bit of life.

​I'm not consistent - and I'm not promising I will be. But like my journal who's pages I come back to regularly, I hope to come back here and share life updates, details from my latest travels, notes on recipes I'm loving and cooking - details I'm not sharing anywhere else because life is too short and social media is too exhausting.
